Naked Smoky Palette by Urban Decay Review

So today's post is all about the popular, highly anticipated Naked Smoky Palette by Urban Decay. I am a huge fan of the Naked Palette's so I couldn't wait to get this one and add to my ever growing collection. I really do love Urban Decay including their products and their morals (shout out to no animal cruelty hell yeah!!) so I don't mind splashing out once in a while for their products. At first glance, the packing is gorgeous and minimal with a smoky (obviously) marble effect.

Inside the palette is an array of golds, to greys, to purples, to browns which created a very autumnal looking palette. Overall, I'm not overly ecstatic about this palette. It really doesn't compare to number 2 (my fave). Some of the colours are really amazing like dirtysweet which is a light, metallic gold/copper colour.
For some of the colours being so dark, I didn't find they were very pigmented also and had to apply multiple layers to build up the colour. However, one thing is for sure, it's an ideal palette for a smokey eye - that is if you want a very dark, almost black, smoky eye.
Something else new about the palette too was the brush - which is a bloody nightmare to get out. The smaller side looked as if it was for inner corners which left me wondering why they'd get rid of the usual application brush as it's what you use the most. On the other side, I was pleased to see a large, fluffy blending brush which is pretty good and one of my favourite things about the palette.

I was so disappointed about how the colours came out, they didn't differentiate at all. I was really excited to try the purples but they came out more black and very faded. Really, I only use the copper colour (2nd from top) and the whites as I find the Naked Palette 2 is a lot more pigmented and better for every day use. I am still yet to try a few of the colours, but I am very apprehensive after watching. Urban Decay, I expected more but I still love you and just hope you can bring it back with the next one!

The 5 AW Beauty Trends You Need To Know

Autumn and winter makeup is my favourite. I feel like there's so much you can do during these seasons and you can experiment with so many amazing colours. Summer tends to be associated with light, subtle makeup whereas autumn and winter are for deeper, richer colours. So, here are some gorgeous beauty trends for AW that everyone needs to try

1. Smoky copper eyes
This is definitely my favourite look at the moment and it seems to be my everyday look. Gold and amber tones create a sensual, smoky copper eye.

2. Burgundy lips
This trend appears every year and never goes out of style. It's the classic burgundy lip look. Perfect with a copper eye.

3. Peachy glow
Contouring is out, warm rose and peach blushes are in which create the effect that you've just been on a windy, winter walk.

4. Graphic liner
Who said eyeliner had to just be a straight line? These conceptual designs make an edgy, high fashion statement.

5. "No makeup" makeup
Yep, you heard right. It's time to bare all and go au natural. Go fresh faced this season by wearing minimal, nude makeup.

Which of these trends are you going to try this AW season?

What I Ate Today | Vegetarian

Hi everyone, so today's a bit of a different blog post but I thought I'd mix things up a bit and show you the kind of things I eat in a day for all of you who want some vegetarian meal ideas or are just super nosy. I've been a veggie just over 2 months now and I'm loving it. There's actually so many choices and it's super easy. I'm not trying to preach here but cutting meat out of my diet has made me feel so much better mentally and physically, and it's helping the world. I'd love to go vegan sometime soon but for now, I'll stick with veggie.

So for breakfast I had a smoothie packed full of fruit and veggie. So, in the smoothie there were 2 bananas, 6 large strawberries, a handful of frozen raspberries, a handful of spinach and a tsp of organic matcha powder. This powder is great for boosting your energy levels and can help boost your metabolism. So I cut up all my fruit and popped it in the blender.

Alongside my smoothie, I like to have some lemon water for refreshment and to detox my body.

For Lunch, myself, my Mam and my sister walked over to a pub because who doesn't love pub food? They actually had quite a lot veggie options which made me super happy. I opted for the Mexican-style pasta boats filled with beans, sweetcorn cheese and other stuff. Surprisingly this was part of the healthy menu despite being super carby and cheesy and it only came in at 475 cals. It also came with a side salad and I pinched some of my Mam's chips.

I got a bit peckish around 3pm so I snacked on some strawberries. Here's me really enjoying a strawberry, apparently.

Unfortunately, I had work that night so that meant tea had to be a packed lunch. I was feeling lazy so I threw together a Quorn sandwich with some salad. I was a bit naughty and put some crisps in too. I also took a big 1L bottle of water to work because I'm always so dehydrated. Of course I had to put it in my fave Fiji water bottle.

After work I was so sleepy and my feet hurt so I just wanted to get into bed. I quickly made myself a cup of peppermint tea and had a low fat muller rice as I was a little bit peckish, and hopped straight into bed.

So that's what I ate today (well yesterday but that doesn't have the same ring to it)! Let me know if you liked this post and if you want me to do more of these or I could post some recipes and cooking posts/videos.
